Matt Jacobs' floral art is in Hagerstown

The Washington County Museum of Fine Arts presents the floral paintings of New York City artist Matt Jacobs.

The artist, trained at New York's Bard College and the School of Visual Arts, combines wood inlay designs with intricate and colorful oil compositions to create whimsical and ornate works.

His paintings will remain on display through Jan. 11.

Two women exhibit at Resurgam

The work of two former Maryland Institute College of Art students is on exhibit in matters between matters, at the Resurgam Gallery.

Edda Jakab's oil paintings and mixed-media works on paper and Lyndie Vantine's three-dimensional pieces are shown in the two-woman show, which will be on view through Jan. 25.

Resurgam Gallery is at 910 S. Charles St. Hours are noon-5 p.m. Thursdays-Fridays, 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturdays and 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Sundays. For more information, call 410-962-0513.
