Police Blotter is a sampling of crimes from police reports in Baltimore City and Baltimore County.

Baltimore City

Southwestern District

Homicide: An unidentified man died last night at Maryland Shock Trauma Center after being shot in the head and chest about 6 p.m. in the 3100 block of Normount Ave. by an occupant of a passing vehicle. At least two men were arrested a short time later and were being questioned by police.

Southern District

Arrest: Robert Ballesteris, 29, of the 100 block of Hollywood Drive in Glen Burnie was arrested yesterday in the 1700 block of Hollins St. by members of the Warrant Apprehension Task Force on warrants charging him with the armed robberies of two Yellow Cab drivers in the 1900 block of Frederick Ave. on Dec. 15 and Thursday. He also is charged with using a handgun in the commission of a felony and was being held at Central Booking and Intake Center.

Northern District

Shooting: A man, 50, was walking in an alley behind the 800 block of Montpelier St. about 8:15 p.m. Monday when another man shot him in the chest. The victim was reported in fair condition at Shock Trauma.

Central District

Theft: A laptop computer valued at $400 was stolen Monday from atop an unattended duffel bag at the Greyhound station in the 200 block of W. Fayette St.

Western District

Shootings: Two men were standing in the 2700 block of Harlem Ave. about 12:45 p.m. yesterday when each was shot in the back by a gunman. One victim fled to the nearby 600 block of Claymont Ave., where he was found by police. Both were treated at Shock Trauma.

Northwestern District

Burglary: Video games and a laptop computer were stolen Monday from a house in the 2700 block of Queen Anne Road.

Burglary: Someone broke into the Rent-A-Center store in the 5900 block of Reisterstown Road during the weekend and stole a DVD player and a digital camera. The items were valued at $229.

Baltimore County

North Point Precinct

Robbery: A woman, 38, was walking across the Eastpoint Mall parking lot about 9 p.m. Monday when she was assaulted by two men who stole her wallet containing $280.

Theft from vehicle: A power drill valued at $1,000 was stolen Monday from the front seat of a 1994 Ford pickup truck parked at Eastpoint Mall.

Burglary: A red 1988 Honda all-terrain vehicle valued at $2,000 was stolen Monday from the rear yard of a house in the 8000 block of Norris Lane.

Theft/arrest: A girl, 15, was arrested Monday when she tried to leave Sears at Eastpoint Mall without paying for two watches and jewelry - all valued at $205.

Essex Precinct

Burglary: Computer software and a power washing machine - all valued at $1,200 - were stolen Monday from Bud's Bay Country Auto in the 12500 block of Eastern Ave.

Franklin Precinct

Robbery: Police were seeking two men, one with a handgun, who robbed Yield Spirit Shop in the 7000 block of Liberty Road of an undisclosed sum of money about 7 p.m. Monday.

Burglary/stolen vehicle: Someone entered the service department of Antwerpen Auto Group in the 9400 block of Liberty Road between Saturday and yesterday and stole a DVD player, a videocassette recorder, two impact wrenches, money from a vending machine and the keys to a 2002 Chevrolet Malibu that had been left in an overnight-service key box. The car, with tags KRP 160, also was stolen.
