ANN IZORAH (Martin) O'BRIEN, Titusville, Florida passed away quietly at Parish Medical Center on Saturday, December 20, 2003. She was the wife, for 47 years, of Captain Austin C. O'Brien, Jr., USN (Ret) and they have resided in Titusville since 1981. They moved to Titusville from Vienna, VA upon his retirement from the Navel Service. Ann was born in 1933 at the family home in Baltimore, MD and graduated from Friend's School in Baltimore in 1951. She is the mother of Karen Abbott of Cocoa, FL, Lisa Sweet of Manassas, VA, Nancy Reilly of Buford, GA, and Michael and Hugh Christopher, both of Titusville. Nine grandchildren and one great-grandson. Three brothers also survive her. Her parents are predeceased. As a military wife she has traveled widely and easily adapted to new surroundings. Ann was a member of the Titusville Chapter of Laurette Delta Lambda of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. La Cita Country Club. Florida Republican Women's Club and the Friend's Alumni Association. She was an avid Bridge player and golfer. Ann was known for her charm, poise, and grace under pressure. She has held many positions of trust in her member organizations, and enjoyed her contributions to the community. Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 PM Tuesday, December 23, 2003 at North Brevard Funeral Home, Titusville, FL, under the direction of Fr. Joe Roberts of St. Teresa Catholic Church, Titusville. Visitation will be one hour prior to service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society. North Brevard Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
