Credentialing center offers contact hours for Maryland nurses

Carroll Community College offers Maryland nurses American Nurses Credentialing Center continuing education contact hours.

The Committee for Nursing and Allied Health, a consortium of 16 community colleges across the state, recently was re- approved as a provider of continuing education for nurses during its accreditation review.

CNAH colleges offer continuing education for nurses and other allied health professionals. Although not required by the state for recertification, ANCC contact hours for advancement and retention may be required by many employers.

Mother, daughter class on belly dance in February

Freedom Area Recreation Council's adult fitness program, Health and Fitness, will offer a mother and daughter belly dance workshop in February.

The workshop is designed to give mothers and daughters who are curious about belly dance an opportunity to learn more about the art and basic moves.

A date and time for the Saturday workshop will be set later. Those interested can call 410-795-9101 to be placed on a mailing list for the workshop.

Health and Fitness is in Carrolltown Center in Eldersburg.

Recreation council adds prenatal yoga instructor

Health and Fitness, Freedom Area Recreation Council's adult fitness program, has added Sara Frazier to its staff of certified instructors.

Frazier will teach the new prenatal yoga class beginning Jan. 14 at 5:30 p.m. Wednesdays in the Linton Springs Elementary School community room, 375 Ronsdale Road, Sykesville.

A fitness teacher since 1989, she is a certified yoga instructor, certified post rehabilitative specialist and certified personal trainer.
