Glen Burnie church plans Christmas Eve, New Year's Eve events

Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer will celebrate a Christmas dinner at 5 p.m. Sunday at 7606 Quarterfield Road, Glen Burnie.

Tickets are $5 and $2 for ages 6 to 12. Family tickets are $12. Dinner will be followed by a Christmas carol celebration at 6:30 p.m.

On Christmas Eve, a family service will be held at 7:30 p.m. with a message for children and a traditional candlelight service at 11 p.m.

The church will celebrate the New Year with Family Game Night's Second annual New Year's Eve Party, which begins at 8:30 p.m. Dec. 31. Participants can bring their favorite game and a snack and spend the evening in fellowship and good times. Information: 410-551-7677.

Praise Center moves to new Severn location

Praise Center Full Gospel Church recently moved to 2622 I St., Severn.

The church will hold a Christmas pageant at 3 p.m. Sunday. Praise Center youth will illustrate the birth of Christ with song, orations and theatrical expressions.

The church will celebrate the New Year with a Watch Night Service at 10 p.m. Dec. 31.

Regular Sunday worship service takes place at 11 a.m. and Sunday school is at 9:30 a.m. Information: 410-551-8771.

Our Shepherd Lutheran to offer lessons, carols

Our Shepherd Lutheran Church invites the public to a service of lessons and carols at 9:30 a.m. Sunday at 400 Benfield Road, Severna Park.

Carols led by the adult and youth choirs, as well as handbells and brass will accompany Scripture reading, including the Christmas story according to the Gospel of St. Luke. Mary Jo Bedsworth directs the music program at the church.

Three services will be held on Christmas Eve, beginning with Holy Communion at 4 p.m. There will be a family service at 7 p.m. with music from the children's choirs. The musical prelude for the 11 p.m. candlelight service begins at 10:15 p.m. Information: 410-647-1658.
