All-Metro senior Dani Kell scored 19 points to lead No. 4 Roland Park to a 56-39 upset of St. Frances in an Interscholastic Athletic Association of Maryland A Conference game yesterday.

For the host Panthers, who had no one score in double figures, the setback was their first in the league since a Feb. 12, 2002 loss to Archbishop Spalding.

None of the players on Roland Park's team had ever beaten the Panthers (3-2 overall, 2-1 league), but an outstanding help defense that never let the Panthers get into their running game made the difference.

The Reds (4-2, 3-1) had something to prove. Their victory came on the heels of a surprising 55-44 loss at Notre Dame Prep on Monday.
