Manchester's council to meet 5 candidates

December 17, 2003

Five people seeking to fill a vacant seat on the Manchester Town Council are scheduled to meet with the council tonight.

The meeting was set after council members, who must vote on who will fill the vacancy, said at their meeting Dec. 9 that they did not know all the candidates and would like to talk with them before making a decision.

The meeting will be at 7:30 tonight and is to be televised on the town's cable channel.

The candidates are: Roseanna Lewis, who serves on the town planning and zoning commission; former Councilman Joe Jordan; David M. Bott, who ran unsuccessfully for the council in 2001; Darrell W. Davidson; and Adam Haubert.

The replacement will need three council votes to be selected to serve out the term of former Councilwoman Mary E. Minderlein, who was re-elected in May but stepped down last month because she has moved out of town to be closer to her job in Hagerstown.
