MADELYN E. YOX, 67, a seven year resident of Sierra Vista, AZ, peaceful ly returned to the Lord on December 5, 2003. Madelyn was born on January 7, 1936, in Baltimore, MD, to Albert Hiller and Mary Tokarz Hiller. After graduating from The Institute of Notre Dame in Baltimore in 1954, she married Michael Joseph Yox in 1955 at St Bernadine's Church in Baltimore, MD. Madelyn briefly worked for Equitable Trust Bank in Randallstown and Owings Mills, MD, rising to the position of assistant Branch Manager. She worked for Avon Products for almost 30 years, 22 years as a Maryland District Manager in Baltimore and Montgomery Counties. In 12 of those years, she was in the Avon Circle of Excellence, among the top 10% in sales nationally. Her Avon success allowed her to travel the world to places like France, Germany, Spain, Hawaii, Mexico, Bermuda, and Hong Kong. As a semi-retirement job, Madelyn worked for four years in the business office of the Charles A Klein Construction Company. Upon retiring to Arizona in 1996, Madelyn pursued a life-long passion for dance when she joined the Rickety Rockettes, a vivacious troop of ambassadors for the City of Sierra Vista. Known as Matts to her friends and Mum-Mum to a multitude of teenagers, her effervescence and kindness will be missed by her colleagues, neighbors, and friends. Madelyn is survived by her husband of 48 years, Joe, of Sierra Vista; son, Michael J. (Judy) Yox, Jr., of Huntingtown, MD; daughters Susan Dalton of Russellville, AR, and Debra (Ron) Scott of Sierra Vista, AZ; grandchildren Sara Dalton of Nashville, TN, Justin Dalton of Russellville, AR, Christopher and Sandy Scott of Sierra Vista, and Jennifer and Kaitlin Yox of Huntingtown, MD. Madelyn is also survived by her mother-in-law, Eleanor Yox, of Sykesville, MD; brothers-in-law John (Mary Ellen) Yox of Mattoon, IL, and Henry (Kathy) Yox of Finksburg, MD; sister-in-law Mary Yox of Sykesville, MD; many nieces, nephews, and cousins in the Rupp, Tokarz, Yox, and Zink and families; and dear friends Mary Lou and Bill Bess of Sierra Vista. Visitations and Masses will be held in Arizona and Maryland. In Randallstown, MD, visitations will be on Thursday, December 11, 2003, at Loring Byers Funeral Home, 8728 Liberty Road, from 2 to 4 PM and 7 to 9 PM, and on Friday, December 12, 2003, from 9 to 10 AM. Mass will follow at 10:30 AM at Holy Family Church, 9700 Liberty Road. Fr. McGovern will preside. A Reception will follow at the Knight's of Columbus Hall in Randallstown. Final Interment will be in the foothills of the Huachuca Mountains in the Mother Theresa Columbarium of the All Saints and All Souls Cemetery in Sierra Vista, AZ. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Madelyn's name to the Building Fund at Our Lady of The Mountains Parish, 1425 Yaqui St. Sierra Vista, AZ 85650, or to your local American Cancer Society's Patient Assistance Center.
