Police Blotter is a sampling of crimes from police reports in Baltimore City and Baltimore County.

Baltimore City

Eastern District

Arrest: Nicholas Jackson, 23, was arrested Wednesday in the 2600 block of Aisquith St. by members of the Warrant Apprehension Task Force on a charge of attempted murder. He is accused in the May 31 shooting of Darrell Mitchell, 17, of no fixed address, in the 2300 block of Harford Road. Jackson, of the 8200 block of Autrim Lane in Pikesville, was being held at Central Booking and Intake Center.

Central District

Theft/arrest: A woman was shopping in Lafayette Market in the 1700 block of Pennsylvania Ave. on Wednesday when a man stole a $20 bill she was holding. Arrested moments later and charged with theft was Roosevelt Shaw, 47, of the 1000 block of N. Arlington Ave.

Theft: Three boxwood hedges valued at $225 were stolen Wednesday from the front yard of a house in the first block of E. Madison St.

Western District

Robbery: Police were seeking a man who robbed a woman of more than $400 in the 1300 block of Woodyear St. on Tuesday afternoon while implying he was armed with a handgun.

Southeastern District

Robbery: A 15-year-old girl was talking on a pay phone in the 6100 block of Holabird Ave. about 2:30 p.m. Wednesday when a man robbed her of jewelry valued at $440.

Theft from vehicle: Power and hand tools valued at $900 were stolen Wednesday from a Dodge pickup truck parked in the 700 block of S. Wolfe St.

Baltimore County

Essex Precinct

Burglary/arrest: Joseph Warner, 36, was arrested early Wednesday outside his Penthouse Apartments residence in Towson and charged with breaking into Hair Cuttery at Martin Plaza Shopping Center that day -- by crashing his Saturn automobile through the front window -- and stealing $185. He also was charged with assaulting county Officer Sean Salisbury, who was approaching the car on Pulaski Highway in Rosedale after the burglary when the driver nearly ran him down, police said.

White Marsh Precinct

Drug arrest: A Leesburg, Va., man was arrested Wednesday and charged with possession of marijuana after Officer Chris Reiber of the Maryland Transportation Authority Police stopped a Toyota going 70 mph in a 55 mph zone on Interstate 95 in Rosedale and smelled burning marijuana. Recovered from passenger Kalonji Cummings, 25, was a small quantity of marijuana and $9,000, said police spokesman Greg Prioleau. The driver was not charged, Prioleau said.

Garrison Precinct

Burglary: Someone entered a garage in the 3400 block of Overbrook Road on Wednesday and removed a phone from a car.
