On Wednesday, November 26, 2003, JACK R. HOWARD, age 84 of Monroeville, PA, formerly of Baltimore, MD, but born in Columbia, MO, son of the late John T. and W. Eleanor (Patton) Howard; beloved husband of Gertrude S. "Jerry" (Ryan) Howard; father of JoAnn F. Melhorn of West Orange, NJ, Johanna A. Hackett of Beaver Falls, PA, Andrew Boney, Jr., of New Kensington, PA, the late Charles E. Boney, Theresa M. Stevick of Penn Hills, PA, Rev. Thomas Ryan of Baltimore, MD, Mary K. Walker of Kittanning, PA; brother of the late Stanley R. Howard of Butler, Al, Marjorie A. McGrath of Columbia, MO, Mary E. Blair of Newport Beach, CA, Rachel J. Dykes of Columbia, MO. Also survived by 14 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. Jack served in the U.S. Coast Guard, 1940-45; was discharged as Chief Petty Officer (Printer); worked all his adult life as a printer; retired from the Baltimore Sun Paper after 35 years of service. He compiled and published the genealogical record of his maternal lineage; his main hobby was bowling. He held life memberships in the Sons of The American Revolution and the American Legion and was a member of Monroeville Post 820 of the American Legion.
