Margaret Mary Miller, 74, St. Agnes HealthCare nurse

December 02, 2003

Margaret Mary Miller, a retired nurse who formerly cared for newborn and premature babies at St. Agnes HealthCare, died Saturday of diabetes at the hospital where she had worked for nearly 35 years. The Catonsville resident was 74.

Born and raised in Relay, Miss Miller graduated from Mount de Sales Academy in Catonsville in 1947 and the old St. Agnes Hospital School of Nursing in 1951.

After working in the newborn nursery for many years, she was put in charge of premature babies. Miss Miller often went to the hospital on days off to assist the nurses who were on duty.

"The babies were there, and that's where she was supposed to be," said nephew Jeffery Britt of Catonsville.

A Mass of Christian burial will be offered at 9:30 a.m. today at Our Lady of Victory Roman Catholic Church, 4416 Wilkens Ave. in Arbutus.

Miss Miller is also survived by a brother, Gerard I. Miller of Bel Air.
