CHARLES BERNARD WOOD, 85, of Salisbury, died Sunday, November 23, 2003, at Wicomico Nursing Home. Born in Baltimore, he was the son of the late Frank and Ethel Wood and husband of the late Katherine Wood. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Lynn S. and Dr. Dennis J. Chodnicki; sister and brother-in-law, Evelyn and Melvin Krason of Dundalk and grandchildren, Ryan, Shey and Brooks Chodnicki of Salisbury. Before his illness Mr. Wood was an active member of Faith Lutheran Church and a volunteer for The Joseph House. Mr. Wood was a WWII Veteran, a member of the 9th Army Infantry Division, acting as a sniper and before that M.P. and official escort. For his military service in the European theatre, including Normandy, he received the Silver Service Star, The Combat Infantry Pin, Medal of Good Conduct and various other ribbons for his service. He moved to Salisbury in 1990 and along with his wife, actively participated in the community. A Memorial Service at Loudon Park Cemetery in Baltimore will be announced at a later date.
