Marjorie Fay Meekins, 90, 47-year BGE employee

Marjorie Fay Meekins, who rose from a clerical job to manager of the Annapolis office during a 47-year career with Baltimore Gas and Electric Co., died at her home Thursday of complications from a fall. She was 90.

The lifelong Annapolis resident was a 1931 graduate of Annapolis High School. She began her career with BGE that same year as a clerk in its Main Street office. She was later secretary to the manager there, and retired in 1978 as the manager.

Miss Meekins enjoyed preparing Maryland dishes and entertaining. She also like traveling and knitting.

She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 46 and a longtime communicant of St. Anne's Episcopal Church in Annapolis.

Services were held Saturday.

She is survived by two nephews, C. Douglas Meekins of Annapolis and Melvin Meekins Jr. of Edgewater; and two nieces, P. Gaye Meekins and Shirley Meekins Miller, both of Annapolis.
