Blanche Casebolt Casson, 90, SSA office clerk

Blanche Casebolt Casson, a clerk at the Social Security Administration who was active in her Severna Park church, died at North Arundel Hospital Tuesday of injuries she suffered in a fall. She was 90 and lived for 20 years in Severna Park.

Born Blanche Casebolt in Pikesville, Ky., she moved as a young girl to Portsmouth, Ohio, where she was raised and attended local schools.

She met her husband, L. Chester Casson, while in Ohio. The couple married in 1935 and moved to the Baltimore area soon after that. Mr. Casson died in 1972.

The couple lived in Essex for a short time before they settled in Woodlawn. She worked for the Social Security Administration for 24 years and retired in the early 1970s.

Mrs. Casson was an avid fan of the Orioles, Dallas Cowboys and Florida Marlins. She also enjoyed gardening and was in a singing group at the Sunrise Assisted Living Center in Severna Park, where she was residing at the time of her death.

Services were Friday.

She is survived by two grandchildren. A son, Wendell Chester Casson, died in 1999.
