St. Frances' Angel McCoughtry, last winter's All-Metro girls basketball Player of the Year, has signed a national letter of intent to play for St. John's next season.

The 6-foot-1 forward, a Street & Smith's preseason honorable mention All-American this season, led the Panthers on a wire-to-wire run as the area's No. 1 team last season as St. Frances won its second Interscholastic Athletic Association of Maryland A Conference title in three years.

Exceptionally agile, quick and versatile, McCoughtry has three triple doubles in her career and averaged 14.4 points, 10.5 rebounds and 3.2 steals a game last season.

Two other Panthers have also signed letters of intent - second-team All-Metro guard Shadae Swan with Delaware State and forward Camille Coleman with Appalachian State in North Carolina.
