From 3 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., a panel led by band Cirius B examines the impact of hip-hop on culture, business and economics, as well as how it relates to young artists. The audience will vote on which participants in an open-mike session will open for Cirius B -- a band comprising Baltimore cousins Omari "North Star" Bey and Maimouna "Lunar E" Youssef -- at that night's 9 o'clock performance.

Both events take place at the Creative Alliance at the Patterson, 3134 Eastern Ave. The panel discussion is free. Tickets for the 9 p.m. show are $10. Call 410-276-1651 or visit www.creativealliance.org for more information.
