Thurston joins Yuhanick as head of creative unit

John Yuhanick & Associates Inc. appointed Kevin Thurston to head its new creative wing. His responsibilities include creating print collateral, ad design and copy writing. A graduate of the State University of New York, Buffalo, the Charles Village resident is a published poet and has authored several short stories.

Rosen names Halford PR coordinator

The Rosen Group Inc. named Kristi Halford as a public relations coordinator for the Hampden-based arts marketing and publishing firm. A graduate of the College of Notre Dame of Maryland, she will direct strategic planning and implement media plans and promotional projects.

Kohan is Gilden VP, head of media services

Gilden Integrated, a Hampden-based marketing and public relations house, appointed Mary Ann Kohan vice president and head of its media services division. A former vice president at W.B. Doner & Co., she will have a major role in the development of targeted media campaigns for the firm's clients.

Banking and finance

Habeeb, Hayes, Dailey advance at Calvert Group

Calvert Group Ltd., a Bethesda-based financial services company, appointed Gregory G. Habeeb and Daniel K. Hayes as senior vice presidents and named Thomas A. Dailey as vice president.

Habeeb heads the taxable bond division. He is responsible for the implementation and overall strategy of taxable fixed income portfolios and is senior portfolio manager of the Calvert Income, Short Duration Income, Social Bond, CVS Income Funds and the fixed-income portions of the Social Balanced and CVS Balanced Funds.

Hayes is head of the credit research division and responsible for the credit research activities of the fixed-income portfolios.

Dailey leads the municipal, tax-exempt and money market division, and is responsible for management of tax-free fixed income and tax-free and taxable money fund assets. He also is senior portfolio manager to all the portfolios in the Tax Free Reserves series, National Municipal Intermediate and California Municipal Intermediate funds.

Health care

Cooney assumes post at Magellan Health

Magellan Health Services Inc. appointed Christopher W. Cooney as chief branding and communications officer. He is responsible for the development and management of brand strategy and overseeing advertising, public relations, as well as internal and marketing communications. Before joining the Columbia-based mental health care company, the Pennsylvania State University graduate was president of CWC Consulting, a Stamford, Conn., marketing, communications and management consulting firm.
