Class 4A girls No. 13 Perry Hall (14-4) vs. Eleanor Roosevelt (15-2-1)

Time: 5 p.m.

Outlook: Eleanor Roosevelt needed a shootout to get past No. 6 South River in the semifinals, and Perry Hall beat Damascus, 2-0. Striker Jessica Knight leads the Gators with 20 goals and 10 assists. Midfielder Brittany McKew has 15 goals and 14 assists. The Raiders of Prince George's County have a balanced attack led by midfielder Amanda Harris (11 goals, 13 assists). The Gators are seeking their first title after falling in the state final each of the past two years. Last year, they lost to Quince Orchard, 1-0, in double overtime, and Gators coach Brad Kressman said the Raiders remind him of that opponent. The Gators won the previous meeting in the 2001 state semifinals.

Class 4A boys No. 8 Old Mill (15-3-2) vs. Kenwood (10-6-2)

Time: 7:30 p.m. Outlook: A tight-marking defensive game could be in the works with both teams having quality goalkeepers. Old Mill senior keeper Tim Carrier, a first-team All-Anne Arundel County selection as a junior, is the Patriots' team leader. Kenwood's Alex Hancock shined with 11 saves during the team's 3-0 state semifinal victory over Walter Johnson, a Montgomery County power. The teams have traveled different paths to their first state championship game appearance. The Patriots have taken the next step after making an appearance in last year's state semifinals; the Bluebirds have been the biggest surprise in the playoffs after a .500 regular season that concluded with an 0-5-2 skid.
