Salisbury advances in field hockey, 2-0

Freshman Tracey Lloyd scored in each half as host Salisbury registered its 12th shutout of the season, a 2-0 decision over Mount Holyoke (16-6) in the second round of the NCAA Division III field hockey tournament yesterday.

No. 2 Salisbury (17-1) advanced to today's 1 p.m. regional final against No. 5 Messiah, a 5-2 winner over Eastern Mennonite in yesterday's second game. The Sea Gulls beat Messiah, 3-0, on Oct. 4.

Lloyd, from Delmar and the Capital Athletic Conference's Rookie of the Year, scored her eighth and ninth goals as the Sea Gulls recorded their eighth straight victory.
