The Class 4A state soccer finals set for yesterday at UMBC were postponed to Monday because of high winds.

The schedule and location remains the same, with the girls game - Perry Hall vs. Eleanor Roosevelt - set for 5 p.m. and the boys game - Old Mill vs. Kenwood - to follow at 7:30.

"We're anxious to play, and I'm sure Kenwood is, too, but it just isn't ideal weather conditions to play soccer in," said Old Mill coach Jeff Martin yesterday. "It would have been miserable out there tonight, so I agree with the decision not to play."

The Class 2A state finals, set for today at UMBC, are expected to go on as planned.

The Maryland Association of Coaches of Soccer all-state games, originally scheduled for Monday at UMBC, will be played Tuesday at the same location. The girls game will start at 5:30 p.m., with the boys following.
