Frostburg State advanced to the regional semifinals of the NCAA Division III women's soccer championship for the first time with a 3-2 victory over visiting Westminster (Pa.) yesterday.

The Bobcats (16-4) move on to play regional No. 1 seed Scranton (20-0-1) at 5 p.m. Saturday at Muhlenburg College in Allentown, Pa. Westminster finished its season at 16-7.

Frostburg's first two goals came from Karen Kotofski (Northeast). Fellow junior Becky Rambo (Hereford) netted the decisive score with 2:05 remaining, extending the Bobcats' winning streak to 12. Rambo beat diving goalkeeper Laura Vollmer for the goal.

Men

McDaniel 4, Frostburg State 1: Thomas Kane (Calvert Hall), Todd Knepper and David Long (Westminster) each had a goal and an assist to lead the host Green Terror (14-7-1) over the Bobcats (10-7-2) in an Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference championship quarterfinal.
