On November 9, 2003, BERNICE M. "BERNIE" DUNN, of Severna Park, MD., was born in Leslie, Saskatchewan, Canada on November 3, 1923. She was educated in Canada and traveled to Washington, D.C. in 1942 where the British Army Staff employed her as a secretary. In 1947 she went to New York and worked as a secretary for Courtlaulds, Ltd., while in New York she met and married her late husband, John R. Dunn of Maplewood, N.J. She lived in Summit, N.J. until 1965 when they were transferred to Severna Park, MD. Bernie was active in the Overlook Hospital Follies while in N.J. In Severna Park she worked with both the Girl and Boy Scouts and was active in the PTA. An avid golfer and bridge player, she belonged to the Chartwell Golf and Country Club and the Severna Park Duplicate Bridge Club. She is survived by a sister Svava Chapman of Colorado Springs, CO., a brother Paul Magnusson of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan and four children daughter Betty Lou Magnuson of Ft. Wayne, Indiana, son Randy Dunn of Pensacola, Fla., daughter Barbara Horsley Ames of Severna, MD and Bruce Dunn of Loveland, Co. She has six grandchildren and one great-granddaughterA Memorial Service will be held at Woods Memorial Presbyterian Church, 611 Balto Annapolis Blvd., Severna Park, MD 21146 on Friday, Nov. 14, 2003 at 4 P.M.
