Buell, Betty Virginia

On November 10, 2003, BETTY VIRGINIA BUELL, age 83. She was the daughter of Harry Bernard and Eva (Walter) Bryan, both deceased. Born on October 1, 1920, she married Charles Richard Buell, on January 1, 1944 and he passed away in 1976. She is also preceded in death by her sister Dorothy McDonald. Betty is survived by her daughter, Leslie (Albert) Rachuba, of Westerville, OH; son, Richard (Claudia) Buell, of Baltimore, MD and five grandsons, Adam (Jennifer) and Eric Rachuba, of Ohio and Mitchell, Kyle and Jason Buell, of Maryland. Betty was born, raised and married in Baltimore, MD. She worked for many years at Social Security Administration, in Baltimore. In 2000, she moved to Columbus, OH, in order to be closer to her daughter. She lived in Friendship Village of Columbus. Betty loved shopping, playing Canasta, going out to eat and being with people. She adored her grandsons. Regardless of all of her medical problems, she was a fighter, doing what she had to in order to regain her health and ability to be independent. Just as recently as June 21, she was able to dance at her grandson Adam's wedding to Jennifer. She was loved by many and will be missed by all who knew her. She was especially loved by her "second" family, the family of her son-in-law, Albert. They include her close friend, Katherine Rachuba, and Kenly (Carol) Van Horn and family, and Jon (Dorothy) DeCrette and family. She also leaves several dear friends in Baltimore, MD, as well as those who came to know her in the short time she lived in Ohio. The family will receive friends, Friday, 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 P.M., at MacNABB FUNERAL HOME, 301 Frederick Road, Catonsville (at beltway exit 13), where services will be held Saturday, 11 A.M. Interment in Woodlawn Cemetery.
