In a week, BWI sets 2 weather records

November 11, 2003

Only a week after setting a record high, temperatures at Baltimore-Washington International Airport plunged to a record low of 24 degrees early yesterday, the National Weather Service said. That's 12 degrees below normal for the date.

The mercury bottomed out at 7:15 a.m., breaking the record for that date of 26 degrees, set in 1973. The same cold Canadian air mass also pushed Sunday morning's low to 25 degrees, tying the record set in 1976.

On Nov. 3, the high at BWI reached 80 degrees. That was 19 degrees above normal, and broke the record of 78 degrees for the date, last reached in 1990.
