Davidsonville's Kelly Ward, a 1979 NCAA champion at 158 pounds and a 90-0, two-time Maryland high school titlist, will receive "Outstanding Marylander" honors from the National Wrestling Hall of Fame's state chapter Sunday at the Loews Annapolis Hotel.

The Iowa State alumnus, at 46 a volunteer assistant coach at Mount St. Joseph, won two titles at Montgomery County's Kennedy High before taking 1975 New Jersey and National Preps titles at Blair Academy.

The state chapter also will cite five former high school coaches for lifetime service: Buddy Hepfer (Arundel), Dick Bauerlein (North Carroll), Al Miller (Perry Hall), Andrew Haba (Gaithersburg) and Bill Anderson (Southern-Baltimore, Mervo).
