ROBERT KRUEGER DICKSON, of Salis bury, died on No vember 6, 2003 at his home, with his wife and three sons at his side. Born in Dundalk, MD in Baltimore County, he was the son of the late Alexander and Johanna Krueger Dickson. Mr. Dickson was a member of the first graduating class of the new Dundalk High School in 1947, and then served in the Navy from 1948-1952, the last three years on the aircraft carrier USS Midway. He retired in 1988 after 32 years as an insurance adjuster for Motors Insurance Corporation, a division of General Motors. He started his career with MIC in 1956, was transferred to Salisbury in 1960, and then returned to Baltimore in 1977 to finish his career. He retired back to Salisbury in 1988. In Salisbury, Mr. Dickson was a member of Wicomico Presbyterian Church for 42 years, where he served as Sunday school teacher, church school superintendent, as an elder, trustee, liturgist and member of many committees. During the 1960's he managed and coached the Rotary team of East Salisbury Little League for several years, and was an active member of the Parent and Teacher Association for Wicomico County Schools. After retirement, he volunteered regularly with Habitat for Humanity and the Joseph House Soup Kitchen. While back in Baltimore in the late 70's and 80's, Mr. Dickson attended the Dundalk Presbyterian Church, and was very active on his son's softball teams at the Towson YMCA. During his 16 years of retirement, Bob and his wife enjoyed traveling around the world, and especially enjoyed taking family cruises with their sons and their families. His favorite retirement activities included supporting his grandchildren in their interests and sports, and continuing to work several times a year for MIC as a retiree adjuster on catastrophe losses around the country. He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Joan Boyer Dickson, and three sons and their wives; Robert C. and Carol Davidson Dickson of Destin, FL., David S. and Patricia Byrnes Dickson of Baltimore, MD. and James R. and Gail Scarborough Dickson of Richmond, VA. In addition, six grandchildren, Rob and his wife Julia, Jennifer, Heather, Adam, Erin and Alex, survive Mr. Dickson. Visitation for friends and family will be held at Holloway Funeral Home on Snow Hill Road in Salisbury on Saturday from 2:00 to 5:00 PM. A Funeral Service will be held at Wicomico Presbyterian Church in Salisbury on Sunday at 2:00 PM. The Reverend William Bruce Kirk will officiate. Interment, with military honors, will be at The Gardens of Faith Cemetery in Overlea, MD on Monday at 1:00 PM.
