Five men have been charged in a string of nearly two dozen armed robberies in the Baltimore area since June, Baltimore County police said yesterday.

Video surveillance tapes helped police link the men, who are accused of robbing 11 convenience stores, hotels and other businesses in Baltimore County, several in Harford and Anne Arundel counties and four or five in Baltimore City, said Officer Shawn Vinson, a county police spokesman.

The spree began in June with the holdup of a Rite Aid in Rosedale and continued through the middle of last month with the robbery of a Radio Shack in Pikesville, police said.

The suspects, all of Baltimore, were identified yesterday as Michael Rodell Boyer, 29, of the 3700 block of Springdale Ave.; Kevin Troy James, 32, of the 400 block of Swale Road; Terrence Gregory White, 31, of the 1700 block of Ramblewood Road; Shelley Earnest Edmonds, 31, of the 400 block of N. Lakewood Ave.; and Anwar William Edward Robinson, 24, of the 5300 block of Eastbury Ave.
