BOYS

Dietrich Wright

Eastern Tech, football

The senior continued to set a torrid pace for the No. 1-ranked Mavericks, rushing for four touchdowns and 139 yards in Friday night's 36-0 shutout of Overlea.

Wright, 6 feet 1, 200 pounds, has led the Mavericks to a 9-0 overall record and a 6-0 record in the seven-team Baltimore County 3A-2A league. Eastern Tech has clinched at least a tie for the conference crown.

Wright has rushed for 23 touchdowns and 1,291 yards this season. For his career, Wright has 4,238 rushing yards, 77 rushing touchdowns and four receiving touchdowns.

His 81 career touchdowns rank third on the state's all-time scoring list behind Georgetown Prep's Marcus Mason (86) and Sherwood's Tyree Foreman (82).

GIRLS

Zoey Bouchelle

Notre Dame Prep, soccer

The standout midfielder closed out a stellar four-year career in dramatic fashion on Sunday, scoring with four seconds left in double overtime to provide the top-ranked Blazers with a 5-4 win over John Carroll and their first Interscholastic Athletic Association of Maryland A Conference crown.

A Parade All-American and first-team All-Metro pick as a junior, the Penn State-bound Bouchelle finished this season with 14 goals and six assists in leading the Blazers to a 14-1 mark. In the IAAM playoffs last week, she totaled a goal and two assists in wins over Mercy and St. Mary's before scoring three times against John Carroll -- tying the championship game in the second half and then adding the game-winner.
