Margaret H. Russell, 67, school aide, homemaker

Margaret H. Russell, a homemaker and retired Anne Arundel County public schools administrative aide, died of emphysema Saturday at her daughter's Ellicott City home. She was 67.

The former Margaret Helena Jones was born and raised in Washington and married Patrick L. Russell, a Government Printing Office printer, in 1956. He died in 1971.

After raising her family, Mrs. Russell became an administrative assistant at the county Board of Education headquarters on Riva Road. After working there for seven years in the 1980s, she became a receptionist at her son's mechanical contracting business, CRW Mechanical in Lanham. She retired in 1997.

She enjoyed swimming in the Chesapeake Bay and reading.

Mrs. Russell was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Roman Catholic Church in Ellicott City.

A Mass of Christian burial will be offered at 11 a.m. tomorrow at St. John Neumann Roman Catholic Church, 620 N. Bestgate Road, Annapolis.

Survivors include her two sons, Francis P. Russell of Annapolis and Timothy L. Russell of Severn; a daughter, Barbara A. Tessier of Ellicott City; five sisters, Patricia Whalen and Mary Blackwell, both of Edgewater, Emma MacMannis of Temple Hills, Netta Gledich of Palm Coast, Fla., and Gertrude Whitman of Russellville, Ky.; and 12 grandchildren.
