Halloween parade scheduled tonight in Westminster

American Legion Post 31 of Westminster will hold its 59th annual Halloween parade today through the downtown area.

Groups will participate with floats, vehicles and marching bands.

Parade participants should line up at 6 p.m. at the Masonic building on Monroe Street. The parade will begin at 7 p.m. and travel along Pennsylvania Avenue to Main Street and east to Longwell Avenue to the city playground, where cash awards will be presented.

Large or heavy-duty trucks, skateboards, inline skates and bicycles are not permitted. Throwing corn or candy to spectators is not allowed, but candy may be handed to children.

Motorists are advised to expect delays in the area until the parade is finished.
