Two meetings to address plan for Pimlico track

October 25, 2003

A plan to expand Pimlico Race Course into a gaming complex, with a hotel, banquet hall, theaters, retail shops, and eventually slot machines will be the subject of two community meetings next week.

The plan, revealed in a City Council bill introduced this week by Councilwoman Rochelle "Rikki" Spector, has divided residents and politicians representing the area.

The first meeting is set for Monday, the second for Thursday. Both will start at 6 p.m. and be held at Pimlico, 5201 Park Heights Ave. City and track officials will be present.
