Fire training may reduce water pressure in Winfield

Residents who live near Century High School may experience a drop in water pressure while the Winfield Community Volunteer Fire Department conducts a training exercise between 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. today, county officials said.

Because the training will involve firefighters using public hydrants, residents can expect slower water rates in shower heads and other plumbing fixtures.

The exercise might cause cloudiness in water, said officials, who recommended that appliances such as dishwashers and clothes washers not be used until water runs clear.
