Spaghetti dinner planned Oct. 30 at Reservoir High

The Reservoir High School Boosters will sponsor a spaghetti dinner from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Oct. 30 in the school cafeteria. Spaghetti and meatballs, salad, bread, drinks and dessert will be served. School groups will entertain after dinner.

The cost is $5 a person; children up to age 6 dine free. Proceeds will help pay for extracurricular groups and athletic teams.

English Conversation Club meeting tomorrow morning

The Savage branch library, 9525 Durness Lane, will offer an English Conversation Club for non-native speakers of English who want to practice speaking and listening at 9:30 a.m. tomorrow. Registration is not necessary.

The Volunteer Center Serving Howard County, in cooperation with the Community Emergency Response Network (CERN), will hold an orientation at the library for anyone interested in volunteering in the event of a natural disaster or national emergency. The session will be held from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. tomorrow.

Fatimah Steffanoff and others will share their Muslim culture - food, music, dance, clothing, crafts and activities - at 10 a.m. Nov. 1 at the library.

Lloyd Day, of the Maryland Job Service CareerNet One-Stop Career Centers, will talk about resources for job-seekers at 10 a.m. Nov. 8. Registration is required for both events.

VFW auxiliary holding children's Halloween party

The Ladies Auxiliary of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8097, 7209 Montevideo Road, Jessup, will hold a children's Halloween party for infants to age 12 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. tomorrow.

Cookies, ice cream, sodas, games and prizes are planned.

Civic group to meet: The North Laurel Civic Association will hold a general membership meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Laurel Woods Elementary School.
