Anthony J. Rupp, 73, Western Electric supervisor

Anthony J. Rupp, a retired Western Electric supervisor, died of lung cancer Saturday at St. Joseph Medical Center. The Loch Raven Village resident was 73.

Born in Baltimore and raised in Anneslie, he was a 1948 graduate of Loyola High School. He earned a degree in business administration from Loyola College.

He joined the Point Breeze Works of the former Western Electric Co. in 1955 and worked there until its 1986 closing, when he was a benefits and medical department supervisor. He also was a member of the credit committee of the Point Breeze Credit Union.

Services were held yesterday at Immaculate Heart of Mary Roman Catholic Church, where he was a member.

Survivors include his wife of 49 years, the former Mary Jane McCarthy; a son, Michael A. Rupp, and a daughter, Catherine M. Fuller, both of Baltimore; a sister, Helen Eaton of Falls Church, Va.; and four grandchildren.
