Spaghetti dinner to benefit Boy Scouts

Boy Scout Troop 582 will hold a spaghetti dinner from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. tomorrow at St. Luke's (Winter's) Lutheran Church social hall.

The menu will include spaghetti, salad, Italian bread, beverage and dessert. The cost is $5; $2.50 for children younger than age 10.

Proceeds will benefit the Boy Scout troop.

Apple butter boil planned at Piney Creek church

Piney Creek Church of the Brethren will hold an apple butter boil from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the church.

Apple butter will be available for $3 a pint and $5 a quart. Lunch will be available.

The church is at Ruggles and Teeter roads, north of Taneytown off Route 194.

Town Hall committee sets monthly breakfast Sunday

The Union Bridge Town Hall Funding Committee will hold its monthly breakfast from 7 a.m. to noon Sunday at Union Bridge Community Center.

The menu will include bacon, eggs cooked to order, pancakes, chipped beef gravy, biscuits, fried potatoes and beverages. A bake table will be available.

Tickets are $5; $2.50 for ages 6 to 12; and $5.50 for carryouts.

Blood drive is scheduled Tuesday in Pleasant Valley

Valley Lions Club will hold its fall blood drive from 3 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Pleasant Valley fire hall, 2030 S. Pleasant Valley Road.

Runnymede parents can learn about Title I

Runnymede Elementary School will hold Title I parent information meetings at 11 a.m. in the Title I classroom and 7 p.m. in the media center Tuesday.

Parents will learn about this federally funded program and its benefits to children. ABC Care Inc. will provide child care for children ages 3 and older at the 7 p.m. meeting.

Annual holiday craft fair slated at church Nov. 8

St. Paul's United Methodist Church women will hold their annual holiday craft fair from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 8 at the church in New Windsor.

Vendors and craftspeople will offer holiday decorations, gifts and ornaments. Spaces are available for interested vendors.

Lunch will be served from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Stories, games for teens on the agenda at library

The Taneytown library branch, 10 Grand Drive, will offer:

Family Story Time for all ages (age 3 and younger must be with an adult) at 9:45 a.m. tomorrow, That's So Silly, and 7 p.m. Wednesday Bears, Oh My!

Play Games at the Library at 4 p.m. Wednesday for teens. They can learn and play board games. Those who beat the librarian can win chocolate.

St. Luke's (Winter's) Lutheran: The annual Homecoming Sunday service will be held at 11 a.m. Sunday. The land in front of the church that recently was acquired will be dedicated.
