`Myths and Muses'

Deborah English will celebrate the exhibition of her allegorical paintings today at the Paper-Rock-Scissors Gallery in Hampden.

The reception, which begins at 5:30 p.m., will officially open Myths and Muses, a showcase of two dozen of the artist's whimsical oil paintings. The show will continue through Nov. 15.

Mother-daughter show

Clay Orbit brings together a creative mother-daughter duo again this year in Mother Paints, Daughter Pots III, a show featuring the works of Mary Ellen McLewee and her mother, Louise Seward-Miller. The exhibition, which includes both ceramics and watercolors, will be on display through Oct. 26.
