City man held without bail in triple shooting at Essex party

A 25-year-old East Baltimore man was being held without bail at the Baltimore County Detention Center yesterday after being charged with two counts of first-degree murder in a triple shooting at an Essex party last month that left two men dead and a woman injured, police said.

Police said people at the party identified Jaron Tyee Grade, 25, of the 4200 block of Shamrock Ave. as the gunman.

Detectives are continuing to investigate the possibility that a second man, called "Chuck" by witnesses, also was involved in the shooting. In court papers, police said ballistics tests couldn't confirm whether the bullets fired came from one revolver or two.

About 20 people were at the party in the 900 block of Punjab Circle on Sept. 14, the night of the shooting, police said. Ricardo Morlon Cabera, 25, of the 800 block of Northrop Lane in Middle River and Broadus Teon Funderburke, 25, of Hartland Village in Essex were killed. A 23-year-old woman who was shot was treated at Johns Hopkins Hospital and released, police said. She has not been identified because she is a witness.

Anyone with information about the shootings is asked to call police at 410-307-2020 or Metro Crime Stoppers at 410-276-8888 for a possible reward.
