Firefighters put on `Bedlam in the Boro'

October 15, 2003

This year's "Bedlam in the Boro" promises to be the biggest and scariest yet, according to Lineboro Volunteer Fire Department officials.

The fire company will hold hayrides and other activities Friday, Saturday and Oct. 23-25 and Oct. 30 to Nov. 1 from the firehouse on Main Street. Ticket booth hours will be 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursdays and 7 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays. Attractions will stay open until the last person goes through.

The hayride is a three-mile wagon ride through Lineboro's darkest roads with monsters, special effects and stunts to scare the hardiest soul. The night ride might not be suitable for young children.

For the easily frightened, a Bedlam Bypass hayride will be held from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 26 featuring face painting and a visit to the pumpkin patch for children. Tickets are $4.

The expanded House of Horror offers Dr. Miscut doing the ultimate makeover, the junkyard dog and the spinning vortex. This attraction will be open every night, rain or shine.

Bobbie Weiner, known as Bloody Mary, the professional Hollywood makeup artist who provided special effects makeup for the cast of Titanic, will give a free makeup workshop and sign autographs Oct. 24 and 25.

Hot food and beverages will be offered nightly at the firehouse kitchen. Carnival games and live entertainment will be included.

Tickets are $7 for ages 9 and older and $5 for children ages 8 and younger for the hayride; $5 and $3 for the House of Horror; $10 and $6 for both; or $20 and $12, respectively, for a RIP pass (go to the front of the line on both attractions). Group rates are available.
