Elkridge woman, 23, dies in head-on collision

A 23-year-old Elkridge woman died yesterday when a Glen Burnie teen-ager driving a 1997 Lexus tried to illegally pass other southbound cars on Baltimore-Annapolis Boulevard near Nursery Road and crashed head-on into the woman's northbound Toyota Celica, Anne Arundel County police said.

Lisa Michelle Foster was dead when emergency workers arrived on the scene about 12:20 a.m., said Anne Arundel Fire Department spokesman Lt. George Wiseman.

Foster's two passengers were taken to Maryland Shock Trauma Center, as was Christopher Michael Rider, the 19-year-old driver of the Lexus. Rider was listed in serious condition, and the passengers were in serious but stable condition.
