Proctor, Thelma Louise

October 11, 2003

On September 6, 1923, an angel came down from heaven and blessed Merle and George Roupe of Newcomer, PA with a gift, and that gift was a beautiful baby girl. That girl's name was THELMA LOUISE. On October 10, 2003, that same angel came down and took this precious woman back home to the Lord. Thelma Louise Proctor (nee Roupe) was a courageous woman who was loved and will be missed by many. Thelma was a very strong, loving independent woman. She worked hard to support her son, DeWayne. She was a retired State of Maryland employee and an active member of the Perry Hall Baptist Church community for many years. She was devoted to her husband and son, and she doted on her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She made many wonderful memories with her 9 brothers and sisters. Thelma Louise Proctor, of Abingdon, MD, leaves in mourning her loving husband, Edward Proctor, Jr.; her sisters and brothers, Virginia Gray of Houston, PA; Harry Roupe of Canonsburg, PA; Mabel Rafalko of Lorain, Oh; Don Roupe of Toledo, Oh; Eleanor Grieb of Ellicott City, MD; Gladys Collins of Baltimore, MD; Dolores Zentkovich of Stewartstown, PA; Betty Roupe of Silver Spring, MD; her son, DeWayne Eugene Cusick and his wife, Christina of Rocky Hill, CT; stepson Edward Proctor III and his wife, Rebecca of Towson, MD; grandchildren, William, Ian, and Katelyn Cusick; Michelle and Michael Cusick; Amy Proctor; Carrie Warne; great grandchildren, Melody, Alyson, and Colin Proctor; and Jasmine, Jade and Ivy Warne. Thelma was preceded in death by her father and mother, George and Merle Roupe (nee Matlick); her first husband, Earl Orem Cusick; and her sister, Norma Lyons. There will be no calling hours. It was Thelma's wish to be cremated and interred privately. A memorial service to celebrate Thelma's life will be held on Saturday, October 25, 2003, at 2:00 pm at Perry Hall Baptist Church, 3919 Schroeder Ave., Perry Hall, MD. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association, Memorial and Honor Program, PO Box 2680, N. Canton, OH, 44720.
