Oktoberfest

Don't miss the 34th Annual Maryland Oktoberfest at the Fifth Regiment Armory in Baltimore Saturday and Sunday.

Nonstop German entertainment, from oom-pah to brass, will take place from 1 p.m. to midnight on Saturday and from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Sunday. Doors open at noon on both days. Sample German food and beverage, and browse among the authentic crafts. Admission is $5 for adults, and free for children under 12.

The Fifth Regiment Armory is at 29th Division St. in Baltimore. Free parking is available. Call 410-522-4144.

Towson homecoming

Towson University's Blast from the Past Homecoming 2003 highlights include the Black Eyed Peas and GangStarr today at 7:30 p.m. in the Towson Activities Center. Admission is $10 for TU students and alumni with I.D. and $15 for others. Tickets available through the TU box office at 410-704-2244.

On Saturday, there with be the "Tiger Prowl" 5K run/walk at the Towson Town Center parking lot. The four entry categories are youth, adult, master and wheelchair. There is a 7 a.m. check-in and a 8 a.m. start.

Cost is $25, and proceeds benefit the TU American Red Cross.

Finally, there will be a football game at 1 p.m. featuring the Towson Tigers vs. the Holy Cross Crusaders. Join Gov. Bob Ehrlich and Baltimore Mayor Martin O'Malley for the dedication of Johnny Unitas Stadium. Tickets are $10 for adults, $7 for alumni, senior citizens and children ages 3-17. Children under 3 are free. Advance tickets are available by calling the TU box office.

Dinner and music

A night of dining and dancing will take place at the Conference Center at the Maritime Institute in Linthicum for a bull and oyster roast on Saturday from 6 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. The dinner will feature the Fabulous Hubcaps. Food, from oyster stew to iced decorated cakes, will be served from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. A cash bar will be available. Tickets are $37, and overnight accommodations are available. A room for two includes 2 tickets for Hubcaps, dinner and breakfast for $140.
