Morgan student fatally shot in Timonium

A Morgan State University senior was fatally shot in Timonium early yesterday after leaving a party at a bowling alley.

Lorenzo Roc Hardy III, 23, was killed during an argument outside AMF Timonium Lanes, in the 2100 block of York Road, police said. He was shot once in the upper chest by an unknown man who then fled, police said.

Police said that earlier in the evening, inside the bowling alley,Hardy and the man had gotten into a fight, which was broken up by security.

About 2:30 a.m., Hardy, of the 5700 block of Bowleys Lane in Baltimore, was leaving the bowling alley when he was confronted by the man and was shot, police said. He was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 3:30 a.m.

Hardy was a management major from Philadelphia with a 2.8 grade point average, Morgan State spokesman Clinton Coleman said. "He was described as a good student," Coleman said. "He was expected to graduate this academic year."
