Perpetual Help Parish to hold dinner, festival

Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish, 4795 Ilchester Road, Ellicott City, will hold its 67th Turkey Dinner, Carnival and Fall Festival from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.

A homemade turkey dinner, rides, games, pumpkin-painting and scarecrow-making are planned. The cost is $9, $8 for senior citizens, $6 for children ages 4 and older. Children younger than 4 eat free.

Blessing of Animals set Sunday at St. Louis Church

St. Louis Roman Catholic Church, 12500 Clarksville Pike, Clarksville, will commemorate the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi with a Blessing of Animals at 3:15 p.m. Sunday.

Those who would like a blessing should bring their pets to the plaza in front of the church for a brief prayer service and the blessing, which celebrates the joy of creation.

Ellicott City church plans Blessing of Animals service

St. John's Episcopal Church, 9120 Frederick Road, Ellicott City, will hold a St. Francis of Assisi Blessing of Animals service at 3 p.m. Sunday on the Parish House lawn or indoors, in case of rain.

Healing Mass to be offered at St. Anthony sanctuary

The Companions of St. Anthony will celebrate a Healing Mass at 7:30 p.m. today, and on the first Friday of each month, at the Sanctuary of St. Anthony, 12290 Folly Quarter Road, near Glenelg. A Healing Mass also will be held at 3 p.m. on the third Sunday of each month.

A Blessing of Animals service on the Feast of St. Francis will be offered at 11 a.m. tomorrow.

Journeys Community has new home in Columbia

Journeys Community is holding services in its new permanent home, the renovated auditorium on the second floor of Vantage House Life Care Retirement Community, 5400 Vantage Point Road, in Columbia's Town Center.

The theme for this week's 10 a.m. Sunday service is "A Spiritual Perspective on Hope."

St. Andrew's Episcopal to hold peace dances

Dances of Universal Peace, circle and partner dances drawn from a variety of spiritual traditions, will be celebrated from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, 2892 Route 97, Glenwood.

Beginners and singles are welcome; dances are taught from scratch. A free-will donation will be requested.

Actors, singers sought for St. John musical

St. John United Methodist/Presbyterian Church, 10431 Twin Rivers Road, Columbia, seeks actors and singers to audition for its production of a musical, Carriers of the Light, set in biblical times. The performance will be held at 10:30 a.m. Dec. 14 at the church. Rehearsals, from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., are to start Nov. 6.
