Historical items on display Sunday at Municipal Building

The Manchester Historical Center in the basement of the Municipal Building will be open from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.

The historical center has on display artifacts related to the town's history and offers items for sale to support projects.

The Municipal Building is at 3208 York St. The displays are open to the public during business hours.

Hampstead church plans concert with bonfire

Shiloh United Methodist Church will hold an acoustic concert with a bonfire at 7 p.m. Sunday featuring Paul DeStefano, Nic Mather and Tim Whitney.

DeStefano is a member of St. John's United Methodist Church's In Fellowship praise and worship band. Mather and Whitney are members at Shiloh and former members of its praise band. All three play guitar and sing.

The concert is free and geared toward youths and young adults. Weather permitting, the concert will be held on the church lawn. A hay wagon will be the stage and a bonfire will be nearby. In the event of inclement weather, the concert will be held inside the church.

Participants can take a picnic supper, and a chair or blanket. An offering will be requested. All are welcome.

St. Peter's Lutheran Church to hold `basket-a-day' raffle

St. Peter's Lutheran Church of Hampstead will hold a "basket-a-day" raffle this month.

Each day of the month, a raffle ticket will be drawn for a Longaberger basket. Winners' names will be put back into the drawing for another chance to win.

Tickets are $10 each or two for $15. Proceeds will go to the church building project. Tickets: 410-239-8060.

N. Carroll library branch to present family stories

North Carroll library branch, 2255 Hanover Pike, Greenmount, will offer:

Family Story Time for all ages (age 3 and younger must be with an adult) at 10:30 a.m. every Wednesday and 10 a.m. every Thursday.

"Evening Family Story Time - That's So Silly" for all ages (age 3 and younger must be with an adult) at 6:45 p.m. today.

Time Warp Trio: See You Later, Gladiator by Jon Scieszka for ages 7 to 10 at 6:45 p.m. tomorrow. Children will join the book's characters, Fred, Sam and Joe, and their blue book of time travel to other lands for crafts, puzzles and facts about the story.

"Introduction to Windows and Word" for adults at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Oct. 9. Adults will learn how to work with Windows and simple procedures in Word. Registration is required.

North Carroll Book Discussion Group for ages 9 to 12 at 6:45 p.m. Oct. 13. Takeoffs and Landings by Margaret Peterson Haddix will be discussed.
