Ann Q. McNamara, 80, homemaker and volunteer

Ann Q. McNamara, a homemaker and Meals on Wheels volunteer, died of a respiratory ailment Sept. 24 at the Mercy Ridge retirement community in Timonium, where she had lived for the past two years. The former Guilford resident was 80.

Born Ann Queen in Baltimore and raised in Forest Park, she was a 1941 graduate of Mount St. Agnes High School in Mount Washington.

She was a 25-year volunteer for Meals on Wheels of Central Maryland, and participated in fund raising for the Little Sisters of the Poor.

She played bridge and golf and was a duckpin bowler.

A funeral Mass was offered Saturday.

Survivors include her son, William Q. McNamara, and daughter, Kathleen M. Ruhl, both of Baltimore; a brother, Dr. J. Emmett Queen of Timonium; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
