Beginning in November, Upper Chesapeake Health System will be sponsoring flu shot clinics in preparation for the flu season.
These public clinics will be offered for people 12 and older:
10 a.m.-2 p.m., Nov. 1, Upper Chesapeake Medical Center, Chesapeake Conference Center, 500 Upper Chesapeake Drive, Bel Air
11 a.m.-2 p.m., Nov. 4, Klein's Super Market, Beards Hill Plaza, Aberdeen
9:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m., Nov. 5, Harford Mall, Bel Air
10 a.m.-3 p.m., Nov. 9, Harford Mall
4:30 p.m.-8:30 p.m., Nov. 12, Upper Chesapeake Medical Center
4 p.m.-7 p.m., Nov. 14, Holy Spirit Church, 540 Joppa Farm Road, Joppatowne
9 a.m.-1 p.m., Nov. 16, St. Mary's Church, Pylesville
4 p.m.-7:30 p.m., Nov. 18, Jarrettsville Volunteer Fire Company
10 a.m.-2 p.m., Nov. 20, St. Ignatius Church, Conowingo Road, Hickory
10 a.m.-2 p.m., Nov. 22, Havre de Grace Room, Harford Memorial Hospital, 501 S. Union Ave., Havre de Grace
3:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m., Nov. 24, Harford Mall
A pediatric flu clinic for children between 3 and 11 will be offered from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Nov. 8 at the Chesapeake Conference Center, Upper Chesapeake Medical Center, 500 Upper Chesapeake Drive, Bel Air, and a pediatric follow-up clinic will be offered from 10 a.m. to noon on Dec. 6 at the Chesapeake Conference Center.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta said October and November are the best time to receive a shot to be protected during peak flu season, which typically runs from December to March. The CDC urges shots for the elderly and people with chronic illness.
Shots are $10; cash in the exact amount is required.
