A second team All-Metro pick last year as a junior, Carroll had a 97 percent serve accuracy in the Vikings' run to the 3A state final.

Lynn Cipollone

Severna Park, hitter

The Falcons' go-to hitter as an All-Anne Arundel County sophomore, the 5-foot-10 Cipollone led her team in kills (126) and served 91 percent, and she is ready to also take on a leadership role.

Roberta Holehouse

CHEN, hitter

Holehouse, a second-team All- Metro pick as a sophomore last year, led the Bravehearts to a 16-1 record with the top area average for kills (4.9) from the outside.

Tiffany Johnson

Arundel, hitter

Strong, quick and athletic, the 5-11 junior used her exceptional vertical leap to post 180 kills and 100 blocks as an All-County sophomore.

Dana Mullenhard

Broadneck, hitter

The top returnee on the defending 4A champion Bruins, the 5-11 Mullenhard averaged 3.0 kills and 2.0 aces and is being counted on to be a senior leader.

Queen Nzenwa

Kenwood, hitter

Playing for an unranked team, the 6-1 senior was somewhat unknown until her breakout club season with Time Out for Sports.

Tara Stradling

Glenelg, setter

Leading her school to its first state title (2A) since 1995, the junior was named All-Metro Player of the Year after averaging 92 percent on serves with 467 assists and 42 aces.

Erika Swan

Centennial, hitter

A three-year starter, the 5-10 senior is expected to be one of the leaders for the Eagles as they attempt to regain Howard County's top spot. Swan averaged 2.9 kills and 1.7 blocks last season.

Kayani Turner

John Carroll, hitter

A host of Division I schools are after the 6-foot senior, who powered the Patriots to the Interscholastic Athletic Association of Maryland B Conference title and a 19-0 record with an area-leading 264 kills, 4.6 per game.

Stacey Wasserman

Owings Mills, setter

One of the area's top setters and a three-year starter for the Eagles, she led the area in assists (483, 8.5 per game) to give her a school-record 1,296 for her career, and also had 103 aces and served 92 percent.
