Michael E. Reeve, 56, labor director at GM plant

Michael E. Reeve, retired labor relations director at General Motors' Broening Highway plant, died of respiratory failure Aug. 20 at Levindale Hebrew Geriatric Center and Hospital. The Edgewood resident was 56.

Mr. Reeve was born and raised in Dayton, Ohio. After serving in the Navy from 1965 to 1969, he began his career in the human relations department at GM in Baltimore. He was benefits coordinator before being named labor relations director, and retired in 2000.

He enjoyed visiting Atlantic City, N.J., casinos and fishing, and was an active member of the Harford County chapter of Parents Without Partners -- his two marriages having ended in divorce.

Services were held Saturday.

Mr. Reeve is survived by a son, Brian S. Reeve of Olathe, Kan.; a daughter, Jennifer L. Reese of Rising Sun; a sister, Nancy Kingery of Dayton; a grandson; and his fiancee, Ann Nizer of Edgewood.
