Ron Tellefsen, the president and CEO of Babe Ruth Baseball, made official yesterday what most expected.

"The Cal Ripken World Series will be back here in Aberdeen in 2004 and we hope for many years to come," Tellefsen told the crowd at Ripken Stadium after the International championship game.

Tellefsen said earlier last week that the Babe Ruth officials felt that "everything had been done major league-style."

"From the beginning, I've been saying it was a matter of making it formal and Ron felt it was important to make the announcement today," Cal Ripken said. "Our goal is to make it the permanent site, and it was great to hear the words today."
