Sara Lee Grandes del Mazo, 68, administrative assistant

Sara Lee Grandes del Mazo, a retired Department of Social Services administrative assistant, died Sunday of heart failure at her Lutherville home. She was 68.

Born Sara Lee Talbott in Baltimore and raised in Glen Arm, she was a 1952 graduate of Notre Dame Preparatory School. She attended St. John's College in Annapolis.

She worked at the old Community Action Agency in the 1960s and 1970s, then became an administrative assistant at the Department of Social Services on Guilford Avenue. She retired about 10 years ago.

She enjoyed reading, music and spending summers in Bethany Beach, Del., and was an enthusiastic fan at her sons' sporting events.

Services were held Thursday at Trinity Episcopal Church in Towson, where she was a member.

Survivors include three sons, Pete Grandes del Mazo, Ed Grandes del Mazo and Lee Grandes del Mazo, all of Baltimore; a brother, Robert Talbott of Baltimore; and two grandsons. A daughter, Laura Frances Grandes del Mazo, died in 1976. Her marriage ended in divorce.
